RentalHouses to Eliminate Unlimited Plan
November 12, 2007 – 5:46 pmAn email from RentalHouses.com was sent to advertisers who had the unlimited monthly postings plan. They say they are removing the unlimited plan for SEO reasons. Hum? They will be offering a pay per month per property plan starting in December.
I am emailing to ensure that you are aware of the changes that you, as a RentalHouses.com user, will experience this coming December.
When Rentals.com gained the RentalHouses.com website earlier this year we offered $99/$149/$199/$299 per month pricing on RentalHouses.com to gain as much traffic and content as possible. Our development has been very successful and hopefully you are having success as a result of ours.
However, several recent changes to Search Engine Optimization (SEO) have turned flat monthly billing platforms into a penalizing situation by search engines**. If we allow this to continue it could result in our websites being removed or devalued on popular search engines and your ads not achieving the exposure to prospective tenants that you are currently achieving.
We will be moving all of our pricing structures to a pay-per-ad or pay-per-product structures that achieve optimal ratings on search engines. The sooner I can begin to set you and your company up with new pricing the easier it will be to ensure you are receiving similar pricing for using our website.

SEO! OK, I guess they can use that for their excuse for massively raising their prices.
